General Visa Application Process Information
Please present a complete set of documents relevant to your purpose when
visiting the visa section. The Embassy will not consider any documents sent by
mail or fax. You must present signed Invitations from Switzerland in original.

You may submit your application to the visa section only by scheduled
appointment. You can take an appointment:
PLEASE NOTE / EXCEPTION: Applicants requesting
a visa for the preparation of a marriage or a partnership IN SWITZERLAND as
well as applicants having to register their marriage abroad with a Swiss
citizen in the Swiss family registers have to contact the Embassy directly (no
appointment through the call center/website for such civil cases). For more

Submission hours 8:30 to 12:00 Monday-Thursday.
Passport return (in case of visa delivery)
Monday - Thursday: 14:00-14:30
Friday: 11:30-12:00.

Short term visas may be issued after 4 working days if the applicant
submits a complete set of documents and there are no obstacles for issuing the
visa. The visa section staff may request additional documents.

Processing work, study or other types of visa that require an authorization
from Switzerland may take 6 to 8 weeks from the document submission date.

You must pay the visa fees while submitting your application. This fee is
non-refundable even if visa is denied. The Embassy will not provide any reasons
for refusal.

You must pay the visa fee in US dollars and in cash.
